I am an IT professional and I dutifully manage other peoples’s data and apparently treat it better than my own. I host this website on a test server in my office however, since it isn’t a production server, I discovered today that it isn’t backed up. To be honest, I already knew it wasn’t backed up the moment I acknowledged the last “Are you sure…” message. The important things to a test server are backed up but not the MySQL database that powers this WordPress site.

While doing some content updates I accidentally hit the reset button on my WordPress theme basically setting everything back to factory defaults. The data was all there, all the formatting was gone. Not that this site is a good looking site because it isn’t and I know no one looks at it, it is here to remind me what I do for a living.
