Been putting off line crossing notification for a customer for months but got it done. The most difficult part was finding the right tool to set it up remotely. iVMS-4200 for Macintosh (2.0.0.14) and Windows (3.8.0.4) is a joke so the best way to remotely configure a camera feature was with Edge in IE mode with Hikvision’s plugin. I prefer to program the capable camera itself for this kind of advanced setup but the camera is behind the NVR network and configuring the IP gateway gets wiped out each time the camera reboots. Besides, sometimes the camera has the function that the NVR does not support so you must configure it in the camera. Instead all the settings are in the NVR which is probably preferable but not my preference.

For this camera there are three line crossing regions for both incoming and outgoing traffic. There is another camera with line crossing enabled that will show the license plate of the vehicle. Line crossing trigger sends a still to email and MMS to the home owner.
